What has the Society Done so Far?
The Society has raised nearly a Million dollars to date.

Purchases include $45,000 to Musket Island (a small island just off the SW end
of Hardy Island at the entrance of Jervis Inlet), $100,000 to Jedediah Island
and $75,000 towards the purchase on of a 45 acre property on Hardy Island
adjoining Musket Island. Most recently we collaborated with the Provincial
government to obtain a 350 ha parcel of land on northern portion of Valdez
Island now called Wakes Cove Marine Park. Our contribution was $100,000. We have also helped with the Octopus Islands, Alison Harbour and Squitty Bay
The Society frequently updates a list of potential marine park sites presently
in private hands that are being pursued for purchase as Marine Parks. This list
is compared to a similar list produced by the B.C. Ministry of Parks and other
government agencies.
